The ceremonial county of Lincolnshire (composed of the 'administrative' counties of Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and North-East Lincolnshire) is the second largest of the English counties and one that is predominantly agricultural in character.
These survived until 1974, when Holland, Kesteven, and most of Lindsey were unified into Lincolnshire, and the northern part, with Scunthorpe and Grimsby, going to the newly formed administrative county of Humberside, along with most of the East Riding of Yorkshire.

 Anwick - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Anwick is a small village in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England astride the A153 road between Ruskington and North Kyme, north east of Sleaford.
During World War One there was a Royal Flying Corps airfield north of the village and that area was laid-out as a decoy airstrip occasionally during World War Two, in an effort to fool any enemy airmen that they were overhead either RAF Cranwell or RAF Digby airfields, both genuine fighter bases.
The modern day airstrip, on an arable farm east of the garden centre, is unrelated to the area used by the military during wartime.

 North Street terrace, Bourne
This terrace of four cottages in North Road was built circa 1880 by the Marquess of Exeter, Lord of the Manor of Bourne, as homes for artisans and they were in continual occupation until bought for redevelopment in 2000.
They are marked on maps of the town in 1891 when they were known simply as The Terrace but were then part of a longer row that extended further northwards along the roadside although the others were demolished in 1974 to make way for the town bus station and access to St Gilbert's Road.
The company had stated in December 2001 that the houses were "dark, damp and rat infested and should be pulled down" but the protest campaign prompted a volte face and their opinion was drastically adjusted.

Two district councils in Lincolnshire, West Lindsey and North Kesteven, are amongst the first to take advantage of a partnership with the County Council which provides them with low-cost access to Abacus e-Media's Webstructure content management system (CMS).
Although North Kesteven had previously used a basic content management system, this had proved difficult and time-consuming to update and they entered into a partnership with the County Council in 2004.
West Lindsey had never had a CMS before the installation of Webstructure and joined the partnership in 2005 and gained additional benefit by content provision from North Kesteven District Council.

The winning school All Saints North Hykeham had the honour of playing at Welford Road, entertaining the crowd before Leicester Tigers match with Harlequins in early March 2004.
Eight girls from the All Saints School have since made the transition from tag rugby at their school to contact rugby at the club.
The club are the first in NLD to be awarded the Seal of Approval an achievement for which they are justifiably proud.

 Community Rugby - North Kesteven first
North Kesteven have become the first club in Notts, Lincs and Derbyshire to achieve the prestigious RFU Seal of Approval.
Based at North Hykeham near Lincoln, the club has a flourishing youth section, which includes a girls’ rugby set up.
They were presented with their Seal of Approval certificate by Francis Baron, the RFU’s chief executive, at a reception at the Lawn Centre in Lincoln during the Notts, Lincs and Derbyshire leg of the Sweet Chariot Tour (pictured).
