  North Korean Navy Ship Sunk
Communist North Korean warships have been sailing in and out of the South Korean waters zone since last Monday in what seemed to be a move to escort northern fishing boats to the crab fishing area, some 10 km west of the island of Yonpyong and about 100km northwest of Seoul.
Defense Ministry officials said that two North Korean torpedo boats were among the seven intruding vessels that moved south of the NLL last Sunday.The torpedo boats, 37 to 56 tons, are equipped with two torpedoes and 25-mm guns, and cruise at a maximum speed of 40 knots.
North Korean border violation came ahead of a scheduled meeting Monday, in which generals of the U.N. Command and North Korea were set to discuss the incursion.

On November 20, 1998, a North Korean vessel was detected and captured off the waters of the Kangwha Island in an attempt to infiltrate spies, who subsequently escaped to the North.

But North Korea rejected it during the armistice negotiations, claiming a zone of 12 nautical miles instead of the three nautical miles set by the U.N. As a result, the communist North does not observe the line, often sending fishing boats and naval ships into the zone.

Battleships and DD(X) Robert Novak has an editorial on the Navy's plan to decommission it's last two battleships, the Iowa and the Wisconsin.
I don't see the justification to keep battleships just so you have an option to fire on North Korean military structures, as Novak alludes.
