Newton Township is located in the southwestern corner of Trumbull County in northeastern Ohio, adjacent to the Pennsylvania line.
The township is bordered on the west by Portage County, on the south by Mahoning Country, on the east by Lordstown Township, and on the north by Braceville Township.
Newton Falls is the only incorporated area in Newton Township and the village is located in its northwestern corner.

Her father emigrated to this State in 1824, and entered a quarter section of government land in what is now Ashland Co. Margaret performed out-door labor most of the time until April 25, 1833, when she was married to James Baggs, the youngest son of James and Susan Baggs.
He was born in Pennsylvania, but reared in Virginia; he came to Ohio at an early day, and soon entered eighty acres of government land, on which he ever after lived.
He is Township Treasurer, and has many friends; he has a convenient and well cultivated farm, on which he is putting good buildings, and can feel the pride and satisfaction that comes from an interesting and happy home.

I do not remember anything about North Bingham until two or three years later, when I began going to school.
Newton Peck began keeping store in the building now occupied by Tom Talbet (Adolphos at this writing) for a barn in the year 1877, but is not the same building.
The upright part of this Grange Hall building was built for a store by Newton Peck and John Chase in the same year.
