  About the College - Fullerton College, CA
Fullerton College, the oldest community college in continuous operation in California, is an integral part of both the public school and higher education systems of California.
In the spring of 1964 the residents of the Anaheim Union High School District, the Brea-Olinda Unified School District, and the Placentia Unified District elected to form an interim junior college district to be merged with the existing Fullerton College District to form a larger organization.
Cypress College, in the city of Cypress, opened its doors in September, 1966, as the second college in the district.

 Fullerton College - Public Information
Fullerton Junior College, as it was known from 1913 to 1972, was born out of a proposal made in April 1913 by then principal of Fullerton Union High School Delbert Brunton that the board of trustees authorize two years of postgraduate study at the high school.
In 1965, the North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) was formed to oversee both Fullerton Junior College and Cypress College.
The project was funded by the North Orange County Community College District in conjunction with the Fullerton Redevelopment Agency.

 AACC | California Budget Crisis Drives Down Enrollment
Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa had to slash 20 percent of class sections, resulting in a 12 percent drop in student enrollment this year, said Nancy Kidder, dean of admission for the college.
Gray Davis (D) cut funding for the community college system by $86.8 million for the FY 2003-2004 budget, which was passed in August.
The Western Nevada Community College in Carson City saw a 5 percent growth in student enrollment this year and was able to increase funding to accommodate that increase.

District officials paid $200,000 to Rod Fleeman, the former vice chancellor of finance and facilities, to buy out his contract and settle a defamation claim he had filed, according to the settlement agreement.
Now the district has tightened controls over the project and is looking to replace Fleeman, who resigned Nov. 3, after an independent inquiry determined that at least some of the $239 million in voter-approved bond money he oversaw had been mismanaged.
District Chancellor Hunter said the committee was not told that a probe was under way because it was previously part of a confidential personnel investigation.
