 | | Peoria, Illinois -- Jan Paul Miller, United States Attorney for the Central District of Illinois, announced that Ruth L. Kopp, age 56, who previously practiced medicine at 328 S. 4th Street in Pekin, Illinois, was sentenced today to a term of five months imprisonment to be followed by five months of home confinement. |
 | | Judge McDade further ordered that Kopp pay restitution in the amount of $70,000 to the Illinois Department of Public Aid, which administers the Medicaid program in the state of Illinois; to the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services which administers the Medicare program; and, to Caterpillar Medical Trust. |
 | | As part of the negotiated plea agreement, entered on February 19, 2004, Kopp surrendered her license to practice medicine and agreed never to reapply for a license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois, as well as every other jurisdiction. |
