North Shore City (usually informally just the North Shore, sometimes The Shore or, rarely, North Harbour) in New Zealand is one of four cities in the Auckland metropolitan area.
North Shore is bounded by Rodney District to the north, Waitemata Harbour to the south and the Rangitoto Channel of the Hauraki Gulf to the east.
As of the 2001 census, the median household income for North Shore residents was $53,355, the second-highest in New Zealand compared with a national average of $39,588.

The lumber company Kruger Inc. says 750 jobs in Quebec's North Shore area are "seriously compromised" by massive reduction in wood supplies allotted by the province in its latest calculations.
The privately owned Montreal company said in a statement issued Wednesday its decision to set up on the North Shore, with $170 million in investments and 750 new jobs, "was made on the basis of a contract giving it rights to forest supplies that it believed were stable and predictable."
Wood chips produced on the North Shore supply the 620-employee Wayagamack mill in Trois-Rivières, Que., where Kruger invested $500 million to rescue and restart the mill, in partnership with the Société générale de financement du Québec (SGF).

More than 50 patients and staff were evacuated from North Shore Medical Center in Salem Tuesday after a fire started in an emergency room exhaust vent.
The Salem News reported that the people were evacuated from the Salem Hospital emergency room and from the North Shore Children's Hospital, which is next to the emergency room.
