Besides Dr. Guild, State AAUP Executive Secretary, other Committee R members are Dr. Johnnye Morton, former Northeastern State University AAUP Chapter President; Dr. Harry Holloway, University of Oklahoma AAUP Chapter President; and Dr. Brent Wendling and Dr. Diana Campo, both of the University of Central Oklahoma.
State Committees R, such as the one in Oklahoma, have worked to defeat anti-tenure initiatives, for increased funding for public higher education and for statutory due process guarantees at the state capitol in Oklahoma City in recent months.
The Oklahoma State AAUP and its branches (chapters) have conducted workshops recently on the subject of shared governance, including the primacy of college faculty input in the areas of curriculum and program development; hiring, terminating, affording tenure and promoting faculty; collective bargaining; and in the crucial area of academic freedom.

Northeastern completes sweep over CU LAWTON, Okla. (March 16) - Cameron's offensive woes continued and Northeastern State racked up 25 hits, winning both ends of a softball doubleheader to complete a four-game sweep of the Aggies in Lone Star Conference North Division action on Tuesay.
The Aggies stranded 13 runners on base, losing a double-header to the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma by scores of 7-0 and 2-1.
Cameron will look to crack into the win column on Wednesday, hosting Oklahoma Panhandle State.

The 14-5 University of Central Oklahoma softball team cashed in with three wins and two losses in the UCO Softball Classic, hosted in Mustang, Okla. by the Bronchos finishing second in the six team event to Tarleton State.
March 5, UCO triumphed over Oklahoma Panhandle State in a 6 -3 run victory in addition to losing to Oklahoma City University in a 2-5 loss due to “lack of focus” according to Coach Honea.
Earlier last week, UCO defeated Northeastern State University in a doubleheader with scores of (4-1) in game one of the double header, followed by a 2-1 game two win.

 Oklahoma Indian Tribes
The tribes constituting the Creek Confederacy came to Oklahoma between 1836 and 1841 and were given a reservation in the northeastern part, where they maintained a national government until early in the present century when their lands were allotted in severalty, and they became citizens.
In 1877 the Ponca were moved by force to Oklahoma and, though some individuals were finally allotted land in severalty in their old country, the greater part settled permanently near the Osage in northeastern Oklahoma.
The western part of Oklahoma was occupied by the Comanche during their later history, and they were finally given a reservation in the southwestern part of it, where they were allotted land in severalty and given the privileges of citizenship.
