Northeastern University (NU) is a private research university in Boston, Massachusetts, in the New England region of the United States.
The school was officially organized as a college in 1916, and in 1922 it was renamed "Northeastern University of the Boston Young Men's Christian Association." The University continues to rent space for undergraduate housing in the adjacent Huntington Avenue YMCA.
Northeastern University's southernmost section of campus is located along Columbus Avenue in Roxbury, parallel to the Orange line.

Bourque, the son of former Boston Bruins great and NHL Hall of Famer Ray Bourque, was named tournament MVP as the Terriers (18-10-2) won their 26th Beanpot in the 53-year history of the tournament between the city's four NCAA Division I hockey programs.
Northeastern (12-14-4), seeking its first Beanpot since 1988 and just fifth overall, trailed much of the game, but tied it at 2-2 when Jared Mudryk poked the puck away from BU goalie John Curry after he had smothered Tim Judy's slapshot.

The Boston Fire Department tbhis week ruled that the fires that damaged two buildings at Northeastern University on Sunday were an act of arson.
Laura Shea, university spokesperson said the April 2 fire was similar to this past Sunday's in the way it was in a somewhat isolated building and it being connected to the underground tunnel system.
Shea said the Northeastern police department is working closely with fire investigators to keep things running normally at the school.
