Northern Ireland Office minister Shaun Woodward was today accused of arrogance and woolly thinking for sticking with plans to introduce water charges in Northern Ireland.
Sinn Fein Assembly member Raymond McCartney said while the British government`s decision to delay the introduction of the charges in the province until 2007 was welcome, he was deeply concerned at the minister`s determination to press ahead with the proposal.
Regional Development Minister Shaun Woodward yesterday announced the charges had been put on hold until April 2007, exactly one year after they were due to be introduced.
