POLICE were appealing for public assistance after the alleged sexual assault of two young women by a taxi driver in Melbourne.
Police said the women had been assaulted shortly after they had begun their journey in the taxi and that both had sat in the front passenger seat of the cab.
Police did not release details of what taxi company the man they wished to speak to had been working for at the time of the assaults.

ISRAELI police told the attorney general overnight there was enough evidence to indict President Moshe Katsav on charges of rape, sexual harassment and wire-tapping, at the end of a weeks-long probe.
