The Northern Territory was part of (An Australian state in southeastern Australia) New South Wales from 1825 to 1863 and was later part of (A state in south central Australia) South Australia from 1863 to 1911.
The Northern Territory's (A liquor or brew containing alcohol as the active agent) alcohol consumption is one of the highest in the world, and certainly the highest in Australia.
