 Watford Philharmonic Society
Charlotte Kinder begin her studies at Chetham’s School of Music before attending the Royal Northern College of Music, the National Opera Studio, London (where she was supported by the Friends of Covent Garden, the Goldsmiths Company and the Sybil Tutton Trust) and the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, Rome.
The Society’s next concert, on Saturday, 19th March, which is the evening before Palm Sunday, will be devoted to a performance of a favourite piece, Handel’s Messiah, but with a difference, as we shall be using the version edited by Mozart, which uses a more extensive orchestra than that originally scored by Handel.
It is hard to believe that Watford Philharmonic has not performed this oratorio in its entirety for more than ten years; however, the society made up for this on Saturday, March 19.

Battling the bottleneck - 2004-07-12 - Charlotte Business Journal
Last year, Rucho proposed an amendment to a bill that would have allowed the use of money from the state Highway Trust Fund for I-485; the fund is designated for new roads, not expansions.
In a rare display of tension among Mecklenburg's delegates, Rep. Drew Saunders, a former mayor of Huntersville, killed the plan, citing concerns that funding the southern section of I-485 could delay outerbelt construction in northern Mecklenburg, which is scheduled to be completed in 2010.
Residents and those who work in the area say traffic has become even worse as the outer loop has been completed on the eastern side of Charlotte, connecting with I-85 near University City.
