	Northfield Mount Hermon : A Brief History of NMH
		Northfield Mount Hermon School began as two schools: the Northfield Seminary for Young Ladies, which opened in 1879, and the Mount Hermon School for Boys, which opened in 1881.
		In 1971, the schools became a single coeducational institution with one faculty, one administration, and two coed campuses.
		In January 2004, the board of trustees voted to operate the school on one campus, the Mount Hermon campus in Gill, Massachusetts, in September 2005.

		NORTHFIELD - Northfield Mount Hermon Head of School Thomas K. Sturtevant yesterday announced at the start of graduation that the school has received a $5 million donation to help with the construction of a new Center for the Arts.
		Chairman emeritus of the school's board of trustees, William R. Rhodes, a 1953 graduate of the school who is now chairman, president and chief executive officer of Citibank N.A., is making the donation and the center will be named after Rhodes and his father, Edward R. Rhodes, a 1916 graduate of the school, Sturtevant said.
		In a short speech to the school's 247 graduates, Rhodes told the students and several hundred of their family members that Northfield Mount Hermon School was an important part of building his character.
