 Alan Godfrey Map Details
About three-quarters of the park is shown on this sheet, the remaining area to the north included a mixture of open and wooded land, a fish pond, and reservoir was consiructed over part of the northern park.
Victoria Railway Station, with Walkers Croft Cemetery to the south.Manchester Union Workhouse to the north, is prominent to the right of the map.
Although the date of the survey is given as 1871-72, careful examination of the map reveals that it must have been updated in the 1890s as it includes the Manchester Ship Canal, which was completed in 1894, but does not include the Trafford Park Industrial Estate which was started in 1897.

 Underground Ghost Stations and Lines
Consequently, the depot was constructed at Northumberland Park and this is connected by twin tunnels which link to the main running lines at junctions just North of Seven Sisters station.
This station between Hyde Park Corner and Green Park (then known as Dover Street) was opened in March 1907.
Accordingly the line's London Road depot is linked by a spur which joins the main running lines at a junction just to the north of Lambeth Road station.

 CULG - Future proposals
There was a proposal to extend the depot branch to Northumberland Park to serve the Picketts Lock area for an athletics championship in 2005 or Olympic games at some later date.
The line from Finsbury Park to East Finchley would be reinstated, after which trains from High Barnet would run this way instead of on the Northern Line (it is not clear what would happen to Mill Hill East).
Recent proposals for the Chelsea-Hackney Line have suggested reinstating the line from Finsbury Park to East Finchley, after which trains would run to High Barnet (it's not clear how the Mill Hill East branch would be treated).

 Enfield Lock to Walthamstow
Northumberland Park station is on the main Lea Valley line out of Liverpool Street, and has to deal with additional traffic generated by home games at Tottenham Hotspur's White Hart Lane stadium, which like the station is in Park Lane, not White Hart Lane!
South of Springfield Park and Marina it is possible to walk on either bank of the river.
The park is a narrow linear walk, with seating at regular intervals, running beside Mossops Creek.

 CULG - Victoria Line
Because there was nowhere along the line to build it, it was placed next to the National Rail line south of Northumberland Park station, and is connected by a separate pair of tubes to the north end of Seven Sisters station.
North of Victoria the route slipped eastwards, calling at Green Park, Oxford Circus, King's Cross St. Pancras, Barnsbury, Finsbury Park, Manor House, and Seven Sisters before splitting, with one branch to Blackhorse Road and Walthamstow Hoe Street and the other surfacing south of Northumberland Park where it would use the LNER tracks to Waltham Cross.
Finally, at Finsbury Park, there were two separate island platforms for the Piccadilly Line and the Northern Line; these were reconstructed as northbound and southbound platforms and the Northern Line was cut back to Drayton Park in consequence.
