Northwest also operates flights from a hub in Asia from Narita International Airport near Tokyo, and also operates transatlantic and Asian flights in cooperation with partner KLM from Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Northwest Airlines' regional carrier Mesaba Aviation is considering filing for bankruptcy protection because of sharp reductions in its schedule, according to a regulatory filing by its parent company on Friday.
Northwest has told Mesaba it will remove 10 Saab B+ aircraft on Jan. 4, and that it probably won't be able to deliver 13 more Canadair Regional Jets on time, according to the filing.
Northwest also intends to take away Mesaba's 35 Avro Regional Jets; nine of them were already planned to come out of service on Oct. 31.

One possible plan could call for a group to meet with Northwest officials in Minneapolis before March 3, to see if there is any hope of changing their minds or talking them into extending their time in Dothan.

Northwest will make its decision in mid-September, and service would end in December if the airline cancels flights to Purdue, Stansbury said.
Northwest Airlink has been the lone commercial flight provider at the airport since United Express, a commuter service operated by Great Lakes Aviation Ltd., halted its three daily flights to Chicago in February 2001.

 FlightSim.Com Review: Northwest Airlink Saab 340B
To start my aircraft reviews again, I decided to go with a regional aircraft and found this Saab 340B in Northwest Airlink colors by Herve Sors, Marty Baclawski, Tony Bolton, Pascal Linder and Jim Youngken.
Soon leaving Detroit behind, I planned to fly to Pellston, MI which is a small town up in the "tip of the mit" and serves as the northern terminus of flight for those people flying up to go to Mackinac Island.
It is a route that is served by Northwest Airlink from Detroit in the form of three round trip, one hour or so each way, flights daily.
