  Norwegian Baptist Union - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Norwegian Baptist Union (NBU) (Det Norske Baptistsamfunn) is a national organization of Baptists in Norway for promoting cooperation in missions, benevolence, and education; also called the Baptist Union of Norway.
Baptists of Norway established a theological seminary in 1910, a youth association in 1922, and a high school in 1958.
The NBU is a member of the European Baptist Federation and the Baptist World Alliance.

The center of the Norwegian population in 1960 remained in approximately the same section as in 1940; it was mainly south of Sunset Park and north of 65th Street.
Factors causing the Norwegian population to remain together in New York and Brooklyn are matters of considerable interest for students of the social sciences.

Police have twice fined a Baptist pastor the maximum sum of 87,500 Belarusian roubles (292 Norwegian kroner, 37 Euros or 42 US dollars) in recent months for leading home worship in the town of Lelchitsy, Gomel (Homyel') region, the International Union of Baptist Churches told Forum 18 News Service on 11 February.
The Union, originally formed in 1961, adheres to a rigid principle of separation of church and state according to which none of its current 3,705 congregations throughout the former Soviet Union are registered.
Speaking to Forum 18 in Vitebsk on 23 September 2003, the region's state official in charge of religious affairs confirmed that the unregistered activity of the Union of Baptist Churches was illegal in Belarus.
