BURDICK, farmer, P.O. Norwich, was born in Norwich township, McKean Co., Penn., November 1, 1830, the youngest of eight children born to Rowland and Alvira (Webb) Burdick, natives of New York, who came to Norwich township in 1815.
GALLUP, farmer, P.O. Norwich, was born in Norwich township, McKean Co., Penn., June 28, 1851, the elder of two sons born to Nathaniel C. and Alcena (Derby) Gallup, natives of Pennsylvania, born in 1814, and who settled upon the farm now owned by their son, H.H. Gallup.
OVIATT, Jr., farmer, P.O. Norwich, was born in Smethport, McKean Co., Penn., December 22, 1850, the third son of eleven children born to J.B. and Catherine M. (Stickles) Oviatt, natives of New York State, who came to McKean county in 1837, and settled in Keating township.

The Pennsylvania Proprietaries now sought to establish their claim to the northeast region of Pennsylvania and had a survey of Wyoming completed in December 1768.
Nanticoke Township was given to the "Paxton Boys," who renamed it Hanover, a town near York, an area populated by German immigrants from Hanover, Germany.
In January 1774, however, the Wyoming townships were organized under a general town name of Westmoreland and attached to the county of Litchfield, Connecticut.

Jacob Lindley, seventh son of Demas Lindley, one of the early settlers of Washington County, Pennsylvania, was born in that county, June 13, 1774.
At the age of eighteen he was sent to Jefferson college, Pennsylvania, and from there went to Princeton; New Jersey, where he graduated in 1798.
He returned in 1829 to Pennsylvania, where he spent the rest of his life, and died at the residence of his son, Dr. Lieutellus Lindley, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, January 29th, 1857.

On August 22, 1831, Daniel and Elizabeth Coit of Norwich Connecticut deeded to the Trustees of Concord Township and their successors forever the Concord Township Public Grounds located on the corner of Old Route State 44 and state Route 608.
The property that was referred to as the Commons was to be used for the benefit of the citizens of Concord Township.
In Townships certain regulations are established by a majority vote of the Trustees and are called "resolutions".

This is probably the largest tract of virgin timber in the State of Pennsylvania and consists of in the neighborhood of 30,000 acres in McKean, Cameron and Elk counties.
The Norwich Lumber Co. is owned and controlled by the Goodyear interests, of Buffalo, N. Y., and is really a continuation of the Austin, Galeton and Medix Run Lumbering operations.
Employees' houses in Norwich are being torn down and remove as fast as vacated, and probably by the end of the present year Norwich will be like Cross Fork only a pleasant memory.

He was married to Mary Morris, a native of Pennsylvania, and settled in Lafayette county, where they remained some years, then moved to Indiana and settled in Vermillion county.
He purchased forty acres of land in township 3 north, range 8 east, now known as the town of Mount Pleasant, where he erected a small frame house and commenced to make improvements.
Soon after their removal to Ohio both he and his wife died, leaving four children, of whom the subject of this sketch was the oldest, and nine years of age.

He had little trouble; perhaps because the land of Dutchess County was stoney and difficult to farm, perhaps because large landowners were making economic survival more and more difficult for small farmers, perhaps because the pioneering spirit was still strong among these industrious people about fifty families quickly agreed to move to Canada.

Frank G. erwinski is a suspect in the Sept. 30, 2007, robbery of Unity Bank, 3091 William Penn Highway, Palmer Township.
State police and the casino unit confronted Czerwinski, who reportedly was sleeping in his car, and broke through the locked car to arrest him.
Trooper Brett Langevin cut his hand on the window glass during the incident and was treated at The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich and released.
