		NOSHAHR, Mazandaran Prov, (IRNA) -- An MP expressed displeasure here Wednesday over the slow pace of the construction of the highway which connects the capital to the northern Caspian Sea coast.
		MP from Chalous and Noshahr Anushiravan Mohseni told IRNA that the construction of the road has had only three percent progress in its 10-year long history.
		He further said the highway, when completed will allay concern of the area's residence over the treacherous road of 'Kandovan' which is one of the links to the popular resorts at the Caspian Sea.

	Iran quake toll: At least 24 dead, 270 injured
		Noshahr, May 29, IRNA -- At least 21 people were killed and 250 others injured in the Caspian province of Mazandaran in a relatively strong earthquake which shook almost half of Iran Friday.
		According to Shahrokhi, the quake has destroyed part of the Kandovan road, cutting off 40 villages in the cities of Noshahr and Chalous.
		The earthquake, registering 5.5 degrees on the Richter scale, struck Friday evening, sending terrified residents in many cities, including in the sprawling capital of Tehran, to the streets.

		On the occasion of Government Week, concurrent with the anniversary of martyrdom of Rajaei and Bahonar, Engineer Seyyed Nabi Seydpour, the director general of Ports and Shipping Department of Mazandaran and Golestan provinces attended a press briefing to give a report on the performance of this directorate general.
		Engineer Seydpour said during the period from March 20 to July 21, 2004, some 13,000 tons of dried fruits, livestock products and plants, supermarket goods, minerals and glasses were exported from Noshahr port to the Central Asian republics and to the Persian Gulf littoral sates.
		According to Seydpour, the empty ships berthing at Noshahr Port to load export commodities will enjoy 75 percent discount on harbor taxes and tolls and the exports will be entitled to one-month free-of-charge warehousing.
