Nostra Ætate is the Declaration on the Relation of the Church with Non-Christian Religions of the Second Vatican Council.
Passed by a vote of 2,221 to 88 of the assembled bishops, this declaration was promulgated on October 28, 1965, by Pope Paul VI.
Nostra Aetate was one of Vatican II's three declarations, the other documents consisting of nine decrees and four constitutions.

Nostra Aetate was a document that was an attempt at misguided ecumenism, a pacifier for the contemporary culture, an "I'm ok, you're ok" attitude that became so prevalent in the western culture of the 60's, not the truth.

Rome, Sep. 23, 2005 (CWNews.com) - The Pontifical Gregorian University is organizing an international seminar to mark the 40th anniversary of the landmark Vatican II document Nostra Aetate (doc).
During their meeting with the Pontiff, the rabbis suggested that October 28, the date when the document was published in 1965, should be a day set aside each year for remembering the suffering of Jews, and encouraging the fight to eliminate anti-Semitism.
Archbishop Fitzgerald reminded reporters that Nostra Aetate was not one of the document originally expected to emerge from the Second Vatican Council.
