As it happens, Garcia was born on the 1st of August, so she declared this week "a nine-day week for Jerry." The highlight of the Garcia remembrance was an electrifying version of Not Fade Away, a song made famous first by Buddy Holly and then the Rolling Stones.
Because the Night made an obligatory appearance during the show, but it was also intensely pleasant to hear songs from her most recent album, Trampin'.
Peaceable Kingdom was the song she chose to play for all the people who have died, and continue to die, because of the so-called war on terror.

thisisby.us - I Gave Away My Favorite Song, by prefontaine
I have given away songs dating all the way back to my innocence in grade school, through hormonal high school, up through the college glory days and even to today.
So, after knowingly giving the song away to what I knew in my gut was a bad bet and for the principle that the song only serves as a memory of the good things and not the bad I am now taking it back.
As it continues to fade further and further from my memory clinging to whatever vagueness is still there, time has ultimately caused my memory to look past it anymore.

The style that the remaining three songs on the album are done in is a blend of Neo and Classic Symphonic Progressive.
None of the songs from Brüder are duplicated as such on Nosferatu (aka On the Way to a Little Way), though pieces of them appear in a remixed form among some abstract synth explorations, sitar pieces and the dark, droning choral repetition of "Mantra".
These are actually good songs in their own right, unlike the melodically-challenged space-funk jam "V Ráji Století" and the unaccompanied electric guitar solo "Ozveny", which seem to serve mainly as diversions before the album's grand finale, "Cím Je Svet Muj".

Architecture in Helsinki: In Case We Die - PopMatters Music Review
That song, off the Australian indie-pop group's 1993 debut album Fingers Crossed, is like a fountain of youth: an exuberant cross between a campfire song and a nursery rhyme, with thumb piano, melodica, and trombone.
But Cameron Bird, a sensitive soul with an unusual voice, sings the song like his heart is full of hurt, and a few of the band's female members chime in with sweetly comforting and at the same time strange backing vocals about "a knife serrated".
The song kicks off with a whispered countdown, and it feels like someone's secret party, like somewhere there is a place where outcasts from mainstream society make strange and beautiful noises with the glee of children, without caring how much money the music is worth.

With songs dealing with: Getting wasted in the heat, rat traps filled with soul crusaders, flashing guitars like switchblades, midnight gangs, suicide machines, death traps, suicide traps, and wrapping your legs around one’s velvet rims, one would think Judas Priest was coming out with a new album.
The 'Born To Run' album is a masterpiece containing classic songs such as the title track,"Tenth Avenue Freeze Out," "Backstreets," "Jungleland" and "Thunder Road." As said earlier this album is now 30 years old and has been a staple at classic rock stations since it was released, so there’s no point for me to dissect each song, but what will be reviewed is the Live DVD from the 3 disc set.
