  Keteleeria
Keteleeria is a genus of three species of coniferous trees in the family Pinaceae, related to the genera Nothotsuga and Pseudolarix.
It is distinguished from Nothotsuga by the much larger cones, and from Pseudolarix by the evergreen leaves and the cones not disintegrating readily at maturity.
All three genera share the unusual feature of male cones produced in umbels of several together from a single bud, and also in their ability, very rare in the Pinaceae, of being able to coppice.

 Notes RBG Edinb
Care has been taken to give special emphasis to features which the author considers to be unlikely to have been affected by evolutionary pressures and which therefore represent genuine relationships as opposed to convergent evolution.
In three genera, Pseudolarix, Keteleeria and Nothotsuga, the male cones occur in umbels of 5—20 arising together from a single bud (Cheng and Fu, 1978), unusual in Pinaceae though shared by some members of Taxodiaceae (Sciadopitys and Cunninghamia) among the other conifers.
Nothotsuga does also at the same time share many features with Tsuga; the shoot and pulvinus form, twig layout and pendulous leading shoots are close to those of Tsuga, the leaves have a sunken midrib as in Tsuga (ridged in Keteleeria and Pseudolarix).

Tsuga longibracteata in Chinese Plant Names @ efloras.org
Trees to 30 m tall; trunk to 1 m d.b.h.; bark dark brown, longitudinally fissured; branchlets drying brownish yellow or reddish brown, aging brown-gray or dark brown, glabrous; winter buds scales keeled abaxially.
Mill concurs with Page and other recent authors that this species is sufficiently distinct to be treated in its own genus as Nothotsuga longibracteata.
It differs strikingly from other species of Tsuga as follows: leaves radially spreading, stomatal lines present on each surface; pollen cones clustered in umbels from a single lateral bud; seed cones ± erect; bracts included except for slightly exserted, apical cusp.

Cathaya and Nothotsuga, the most recently described genera (1958, 1988), are apparently not yet in cultivation in North America (Thieret 1993, M.P. Frankis e-mail 30-Jan-1999).

Disagreement between the previous hypotheses and the three-genome phylogeny suggests that morphology of both vegetative and reproductive organs has undergone convergent evolution within the pine family.
The strongly supported monophyly of Nothotsuga longibracteata, Tsuga mertensiana, and Tsuga canadensis on all three gene phylogenies provides evidence against previous hypotheses of intergeneric hybrid origins of Nothotsuga longibracteata and Tsuga mertensiana.
Divergence times of the genera were estimated based on sequence divergence of the matK gene, and they correspond well with the fossil record.

I am also growing one Cryptomeria but I'm worried about it becoming like Leyland Cypress because I have already started to see them being planted in hedges in my area.
I have researched Taiwania, Nothotsuga, Keteleeria, and Cathaya but they are all very difficult to find and I am much more interested in Abies and Picea species anyway.
