Nottingham Express Transit (NET) opened in March 2004 after seven years of construction and serves the largest city in the East Midlands region of England – Nottingham.
NET is unusual in that it is supported by central government funding announced in December 1998, the first line supported with Government funding of £174m in PFI credits towards the total £200m cost of building and opening Phase 1.
NET maintains its trams at a dedicated depot at Wilkinson Street in the north of the city near where street running changes to the railway alignment.
