'Novelty Theory' is an idea conceived of and discussed at length by Terence McKenna from the late 1960s until his death in the year 2000.
McKenna interpreted the fractal nature and resonances of the wave, as well as his theory of the I Ching's artificial arrangement, to show that the events of any given time are recursively related to the events of other times.
As McKenna never had the theory published in a peer-reviewed journal and his sources and reasoning were primarily what would be considered numerological rather than mathematical by professional mathematicians and scientists, the theory has failed to gain any scientific credulity or much recognition.

Having established the relevance of Habermas's work to this area we move from the theory to practice and, in the context of regulation, assess the benefits of the framework in a practical application.
Habermas's theory of communicative action is itself based upon his early historical work analysing the 'public sphere', that is various forms of discussion and debate that grew up in early capitalist society during the eighteenth century.
At the centre of Habermas's mature theory is his key notion of communicative action (1981) whose essential goal is to attempt to reach agreement or mutual understanding rather than achieve a manipulated dominance of belief.

 The Plausibility of Life
To understand novelty in evolution, we need to understand organisms down to their individual building blocks, down to the workings of their deepest components, for these are what undergo change.
A theory of novelty was impossible to devise until the end of the twentieth century; experimental evidence was incomplete on how the organism uses its cellular and molecular mechanisms to build the organism from the egg and to integrate the genetic information into functional processes.
Ignorance about novelty is at the heart of skepticism about evolution, and resolving its origins is necessary to complete our understanding of Darwin’s theory.

The confidential relationship theory is one that is used by courts not only in traditional confidential relationship situations, but the theory is often established on one of the contract theories of protection.
For example, under an express contract theory, most courts do not require the idea to be novel if the terms of the contract do not so require, because the parties are specifically bound by the terms of the contract.

From Above and Below: Problems with Boden's Model of Human Creativity
Though Boden is always careful to phrase her theory in computational terminology, the model she presents is subject to combinatorial explosion as it stands, and is confounded by an over general definition of conceptual space upon which the rest of her theory is based.
If her theory fails at the grander task of explaining human creativity, it has at least demonstrated that a computational model of creativity is not an impossible notion, and that creativity can be subjected to the same rigorous analysis as other cognitive traits with which psychology has concerned itself for decades.
A notable but essentially sole exception to this seems to be the Gestalt theorists, who were concerned from their beginnings with questions of creativity and insight, but who failed to provide a strong testable theory.

Watkins is confident that he has condensed the theory of the timewave into a formula (given below) and is further convinced that there is no rational basis for assuming that the timewave represents the fluctuation of any quantity which can be meaningfully understood as "novelty".
It briefly mentioned that he had developed a theory which involved mathematically modelling the historical ingression of "novelty" using a fractal generated from the King Wen sequence of I Ching hexagrams.
He claimed (and this struck me as sincere) that he was only interested in the truth, and that someone "disproving" the theory was just as a much of a relief to him as someone confirming its validity.
