The complexity of the conditions and conduct of the siege are a cautionary tale in and of itself--a lesson in the pitfalls of attempts to simplify the bitter war in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the role of Sarajevo in that fight.

After all the efforts deployed by the International Community since 1996 to enable the displaced to return to their villages of origin, the results of the year 2000 clearly show that minority returns are a reality; therefore we must not let the returnees without the much needed assistance, said Blatter.

It is absurd also to impose united Sarajevo under muslim control, when it is known that such intentions haven't worked in the case of Mostar which, in spite of almost two years of pressure by the international community, remains divided by the Neretva river into two cities controlled by the federal allies: Croats and muslims.

HDZ is mentioning an Article in Law, which stated that one police direction can have more police stations, but that is an exemption of the rule, so it should not be forced as a rule..
Before the war, only in three municipalities there were more police stations: Novi grad - Sarajevo, Banjaluka and Foca.
Mlaco claims, that HDZ request for opening of police stations in Vitez, Kiseljak, Novi Travnik and some others places, is unjustified: "If in one municipality there are two police stations with different nationalities, it is obvious that there would be difficulties in police management".
