SARAJEVO -- The Law Enforcement Support Team of the SFOR Civil-Military Task Force provided training on concepts of Emergency Management Jan. 17 to Feb. 4 to selected staff members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Canton of Sarajevo.
The students were members of the administrative staff of the Ministry, and police chiefs and supervisors from police stations in the Canton of Sarajevo.
According to Kille, this is an example of SFOR doing something to help the Canton of Sarajevo become organized and better able to protect property and save lives in the event of a disaster or catastrophe.

SARAJEVO - The Ilidza mayor Nedjeljko Prstojevic, stated that the Ilidza municipal bodies will continue to function in its eastern parts, which belong to the RS, adding that the situation in Ilidza is dramatic.
Reports from Sarajevo say that a few days ago deputy high representative for civil affairs in the B-H, Mihael Stainer, visited Kiseljak and agreed with Kiseljak mayor that the Croat policemen constitute a half of federal police in Hadzici and later on in Ilidza.

Jos Poels located a document on the Sarajevo Canton government website being amendemnts to the law on the flag of the Canton: Zakon o izmjenama Zakona o upotrebi grba i zastave Kantona Sarajevo, 26.
Anyway, Sarajevo was (and probably still is) proud of being the city of four religions, with largest Jewish community in the area (about 20 000, IIRC) before the WWII.
I have visited Sarajevo in August and they have just had addopted the new Canton symbols, of which I only have a very poor copy.

TV Sarajevo had to announce that the news was false, and in the broadcast on the investigation into that news, also a statement of a Muslim (standing beside the Minster of the Interior) could be heard saying that he would kill the general Kukanjac's family in Sarajevo.

I've got nothing against serbs building their own Sarajevo, which would be bigger, better and older than "regular" Sarajevo, as long as they were to build it on the other side of Drina.
