Yekaterina Maximova and Vladimir Vassiliev award to the best duet 2 500 US dollars, a sculpture "Duet"— was not awarded.

On September 26, 1959 at the Concert Hall of the Philharmonic society of the Opera and Ballet Theatre of Novosibirsk city, a new school (NGU) was handed its “birth certificate” followed by the first lecture for students majoring in mathematics.
Today, the community of Akademgorodok is made up of 37 scientific research institutes of the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences with roughly 17,000 employees, including 84 members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, about 900 doctors and 2,850 candidates of sciences.
This set a very important tradition for the Akademgorodok community of direct communications and easy access between students and professional scientists with unique requirements for students after their 2nd year to begin practical work and active participation in specific and real projects.
