 Courting Katie Couric - Aug 16, 2001 - E! Online News
AOL Time Warner honcho Gerald Levin met with Couric in New York in March and pitched her all kinds of ventures utilizing the corporate behemoth's assets, from a regular gig on the Web to news specials on CNN to replacing Rosie O'Donnell when the comedian bows out next year.
The courtship of Couric has gotten so intense that DreamWorks honchos Jeffrey Katzenberg and Steven Spielberg went so far as to commission a video--reportedly costing north of $100,000--featuring a group of actors waving "We Love You, Katie" signs.
The Today Show host is at the center of a tug of war between her bosses at NBC and rival media giants over who's going to land Couric once her contract with the network expires next May, reports the Los Angeles Times.

 Media Bias-Attacking Liberalism Part V
Katie Couric said on “Good morning America” that, “these are not liberals, they’re moms.” Tom Brokaw called the organizer of the march “a mother who has never been politically active.
Liberal pundits fire back and say that recently with the advent of Fox News and other media outlets, that they prove that the whole argument is wrong.
It's not as right-wing as I'd like it to be, but it is without a doubt to the right of where the mainstream media is. Liberals deny all day long that the media is biased, but then turn around and throw away a few shots at the Wall Street Journal and Fox News.

 Letters from you, my readers
One thing about Matt Lauer and Katie Couric's Today Show predecessors, remember Tom Brokaw and Barbara Walters as well as Jane Paulie and Bryant Gumbel sat in those charis previously, so experience and ability do count for some things.
You should know better than to show this material to a Mass Comm major and expect him to see nothing wrong.
Her inexperience will more than likely show through somewhere down the line and will more than likely do a great disservice to CNN.

The Fifth Column Is Alive And Well -- Frank Salvato -- GOPUSA
Add a liberally slanted mainstream media that spews its hatred of the current administration through their positioned reporting and slanted commentary of talking heads like Katie Couric, Dan Rather and Tom Brokaw, and it is easy to see that The Fifth Column is up to its old tricks once again.
And at this very moment we are engaged in a struggle with The Fifth Column that could very well hold the future of our country in the balance, at least in the long run.
The Fifth Column, a shadowy element that works against the well-being and success of our country, is alive and well right here in the United States.

Perhaps Wise thinks Katie Couric and Tom Brokaw are Republicans.
Wise was notified of these changes in an email that read, “Your point about your DTN profile is well taken, and we have corrected it”; in the “Corrections” section of DTN, we noted the changes that had been made.
Wise supports race preferences because he believes that whites’ inherent bigotry, and their natural impulse to oppress minorities, is so profound that proactive steps must be taken to neutralize it, lest it run amok.

 Traitorous Media Works Leftist Agenda
This same treasonous song is, of course, being sung by other leftist media egotists such as Canadian Peter Jennings, democrat Dan Rather, society boy Tom Brokaw, sniveling Howard Fineman of Newsweek, pedantic Brian Williams of MSNBC and too-cute by half Katie Couric, among dozens of others.
Even now, in the midst of the most vicious and horrific attack on Americans on American soil, the leftist media have shown themselves not only incapable of supporting the nation, but of actually undermining the President, with relish.
They should be ashamed of themselves and would be well-advised to drop their dangerous game of attacking the President when America itself is under attack.
