The car parks were large, well stewarded, adjacent to the pitch and well-signposted.
Nowlan Park also has the major advantage that fans - with the right credentials and password, of course - can get past the ever-vigilant military guard at James Stephens's barracks - just around the corner from the stadium - and quaff copious amounts of drink at heavily subsidised prices.
The tradeoff, however, was that only a solitary corporal stood in the bearna baoil behind the bar and, thus, by the resulting bottleneck (if you'll excuse the unintended pun), the military authorities managed to carefully ration the amount of drink sold.

The County Board have invested €3.2million in Wexford Park in recent years, installing a new pitch, a gymnasium and a 10,000-seater stand at the 25,000 capacity venue.
The truth is that the Park is in a bad location, no parking worth talking about, I’ve seen cars vandalised on numerous occasions, the town side terrace is still out of bounds due to planning restrictions too.
If Wexford park goes on the market (which personally I hope it doesnt) it typifies everything we have all being saying since we got knocked out of the championship.

This would suggest that capacity is currently a factor in not considering Nowlan Park for many matches, but with 14,500 seats, and 30,000 capacity that would hardly be true for the likes of Under 21 matches or All-Ireland club semi-finals etc., or for that matter the vast majority of Leinster championship games.
The Munster championhsip games will not go to Nowlan Park, and it would be a rare enough League Semi-Final or Final pairing that would have Nowlan Park as an ideal venue.
Kilkenny need to be in a home and away championship arrangement with the likes of Wexford to justify this development to 40,000 as anything other than a "trophy" stadium, and it is doubtful that a championship meeting every two years at a maximum would even do that.
