In an effort to take the lead in environmental awareness in the shipbuilding industry, Tsuneishi Corporation (head office: 1083 Tsuneishi, Numakuma-cho, Numakuma, Hiroshima, President: Katsushige Kambara) has decided to equip its new Handymax Bulk Carrier TESS 58 with electrically powered deck machinery.
Currently, deck machinery such as anchor windlasses, deck cranes and winches are hydraulically powered, which can lead to high maintenance and running costs and marine pollution.
