The Village of Nyack is on the border of two towns and is partly in the Town of Clarkstown and partly in the Town of Orangetown.
Nyack is on the west bank of the Hudson River, north of the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Throughout the 18th Century and 19th Century, Nyack was known for its shipbuilding and was the main commercial center of Rockland County.
