		the guy that had the staff is genjo sanzo,a buddhist priest, the staff is called a nyoibo, you can also see genjo in the anime saiyuki
		I watched two movies, I think, of R.O.D. I loved one of the villain guys who had the Goku stick that let him fly on the clouds.
		This is mentioned in the OVA - Genjo Sanzo was an actual Buddhist priest who traveled from Asia to India to retrieve a sacred scroll.
