 Orf. DermNet NZ
Orf is a virus infection of the skin contracted from sheep and goats.
Orf is caused by a virus called the parapox virus, which infects mainly young lambs and goats who contract the infection from one another or possibly from persistence of the virus in the pastures.
The orf lesion is sometimes irritable during the early stages and is often tender.

 orf
Orf is a highly contagious disease of sheep and goats caused by a parapoxvirus.
Although orf is considered to cause major economic loss in the sheep industry (Reid, 1995), we have been unable to find any published studies on the cost of orf in Great Britain.
In severe outbreaks of orf in nursing ewes and suckling lambs, it may be necessary to artificially feed the lambs.

BD Biosciences Clontech - Freedom ORF Clones   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
Freedom™ ORF clones are collections of high quality sequence verified genes cloned into vectors that are free from the IP constraints commonly found with other recombinational cloning systems.
These ORF clones are provided to you in the pDNR-Dual vector, allowing you to move the inserts directly into any expression vector of choice through a simple Cre recombinase reaction.
Although Freedom™ ORF clones can be subcloned into any expression vector using traditional restriction enzyme and ligase cloning methods, the Creator™ System allows the target gene to be rapidly transferred in-frame to a variety of expression vectors.

 ORF Problem Set
So we've got an ORF that starts at position 3573271 out of 3573470, very near the end of the genome, and stops at position 3574242 -- after the end.
The answer is that the genome is circular, so position 3573470 is followed by position 1, and position 3574242 is the same as position 773.
Warning: Be sure not to report ORFs whose beginning is after the end of the sequence.
