Henri Bergius - The doubtful future of OSCOM (in Weblog)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-25)
The OSCOM association was founded in 2002 to further collaboration and standardization between Open Source Content Management System projects.
OSCOM was unique that in a very competitive and split field it was able to bring people together from many different projects and companies to work together.
OSCOM's biggest problem was that it failed to recruit new active people into the association.

ESPOO, Feb 18th 2003 -- OSCOM is an international, not-for-profit organization dedicated to Open Source Content Management.  The goal of the organization is to bring together as many great brains as possible to build a network and grow the community of open source content management.
OSCOM members are working on several operating systems and browsers, and so Aegir's support for both Internet Explorer and Mozilla WYSIWYG editing was seen as advantageous.
As the OSCOM site was built as a quick hobby project, the site implementation had to be as easy as possible.

This means presenting the OSCOM goals, getting everyone's computers working with the CVS server, etc. The need to have a veteran in each pair can be a limit on the number of pairs, which shouldn't go above four (for a total of eight sprinters).
At the end of the sprint, code is produced and OSCOM (and, by exentension, the member projects) moves forward.
OSCOM has run such workshops in the past.

 Mindjack - Event - OSCOM
The blog talk was very light at OSCOM, which surprised me. The closest we got to a formal presentation on anything bloglike was the presentation on PostNuke and Xoops, two spins on the community-weblog model pioneered by Slashdot.
Rothfuss was also one of the attending members of the OSCOM board.
Michael Wechner's talk on Wyona was rather brief because he wanted to make time to talk about peer-to-peer technology - the crowd seemed confused by the conflict between the free-for-all models of common P2P apps, and the top-down nature of most CMS architectures.
