Oak Cliff, the southwest region of the city, boasts some of the most beautiful terraine and neighborhoods in the DFW area.
The early utopian settlement, La Reunion, was located in Oak Cliff, near the present intersection of Davis and Crockrell Hill Rd. In fact, older "Cliffites," still refer to the area as "La Reunion." In the twentieth century, the bank robbers, Bonnie and Clyde lived in the Trinity Heights area of Oak Cliff.
And Lee Harvey Oswald lived in a rooming house in Oak Cliff and was captured in the Texas Theater on Jefferson Blvd. after shooting police officer Tippett on November 22, 1963.
