Relative to Geriatrix both the child Obelix and the adult Asterix are 'guttersnipes', 'tramps' and 'little imps' (p19).
The storyline is particularly contrived, self-resolving (Obelix just becomes cured for no particular reason) and has the disastrous effect of removing the character of Obelix from the narrative.

Asterix & Obelix XXL sees the heroes of the title, plus their faithful diminutive companion Dogmatix, on a quest across Europe to rescue the members of their village, who were captured and transported to various locations in the Roman Empire whilst Asterix and Obelix were away.
There are plenty of puzzles that involve both Asterix and Obelix and you switch between them as playable characters depending on the situation.
A lot of the puzzles involve keeping a torch lit long enough to light the next one in the sequence until you reach a keg of explosives that must be lit to clear the way and some of these in caves with strong winds blowing through can be a bit of a pain.

Asterix & Obelix are incredibly popular comic characters in Europe, created more than 40 years ago and translated into more than 100 different languages.
Their quirky humor never seemed to successfully trickle into North America...but it's not from a lack of trying, for it seems that, on occasion, the US gets to experience these Gauls battle against the Romans as they fight to preserve their village before it falls to the Romans completely.

NewsForge | MobiliX: Court says Mobilix too close to Obelix
In the plaintiff's view he was using the onomatopoetic resemblance to the famous brand of "Obelix" to make use this famousness.
'Obelix' is a cartoon character from Gaul, who lived under the jurisdiction of the Roman empire - hence the 'ix' postfix to his name.
'Obelix' was famous for his resentment of all things 'Roman' (and all things 'German' if we think on.) Therefore, what could be more entertaining than a Gaullist Cartoon character 'getting one over' the 'second generation of empire builders', specifically using a 'symbol of such oppression' with a name as powerful as 'Ober Landes Gericht'.

Although he had only a minor role in the first adventure, Obelix quickly became an essential character that his authors developed as they went along.
He is actually the readers’ favourite hero: all opinion polls place Obelix at the top of the list of favourite village characters.
An overgrown child who grew up too quickly and who is not yet aware of his own strength (in his defence, it must be said that not everyone falls in a cauldron of magic potion when he’s a little boy!), Obelix is an inexhaustible source of gags.

TuxMobil: Trademark Trouble: Obelix versus MobiliX
In the written verdict the court writes: "The big popularity of the comic-character 'Obelix" doesn't imply, that this word can be seen as a well known trademark." Also it doesn't seem possible to mistake both trademarks for each other.
At October 9th 2003 we have requested the deletion of the community-trademark Obelix from the class number 9 of the trademark register at the European Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market - OAMI
We assume that the trademark Obelix was not used in that class during the first five years from the beginning of the registration.
