  Aichi Prefecture - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nagoya Prefecture was renamed to Aichi Prefecture in April of 1872, and was united with Nukata Prefecture on November 27 of the same year.
Located near the center of the Japanese main island of Honshū, Aichi Prefecture faces the Ise and Mikawa Bays to the south and borders Shizuoka to the east, Nagano to the northeast, Gifu to the north, and Mie to the west.
As of 2001 Aichi Prefecture's population was 50.03% male and 49.97% female.

In Obu, Shigeo works in the accounts department but during his three-month stay in Port Phillip that ended in late March 2002, he was involved in the development of a website that focused on environmental issues.

A Pakistani man and two Japanese women were arrested in Aichi and Gifu prefectures Thursday on suspicion of masterminding a bogus marriage scheme to allow him to stay in Japan, police said.
The police identified the Pakistani as Awais Abadulah, a 32-year-old used-car dealer in Obu, Aichi Prefecture, and the two women as Yumiko Hirashita, 45, and Misuzu Sato, 52, both of Gifu Prefecture.
According to police investigations, Abadulah allegedly conspired to win a long-term residence permit by filing a fake marriage registration with Hirashita, an employee of an adult entertainment shop in the town of Ginan in Gifu Prefecture on April 4 last year.
