| | California Wildlife Hotsheet (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20) |
 | | The wildflowers along the trail on the bluffs are quite nice but not dense: California poppies, storksbill, prostrate fiddleneck, California buttercup, blue-eyed grass (the common Sisyrinchium bellum but with intense deep blue-purple, large flowers, and short stature), and one of my favorites, rattlesnake grass. |
 | | Numerous butterflies were flitting about, mainly the California sister (Adelpha bredowii californica), the wood satyr (Cercyonis sthenele silvestris), the acmon blue (Icaricia acmon acmon), the unsilvered fritillary (Speyeria adiaste adiaste), and the buckeye (Junonia coenia). |
 | | The California sister is fond of trees but is strongly attracted to water, so look for them near small streams. |
