OFC Nations Cup - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Oceania Cup is the biennial football competition held among the Oceanian nations.

The initial Oceania Nations Cup included the French territory of New Caledonia still to receive full membership of FIFA ; and measure of its importance was that the region's perennial powers, Australia, did not even bother to show up.
This dominance of their own backyard was re-emphasised during the World Cup qualifiers earlier this year, when under new national coach Terry Venables the Socceroos cruised through Oceania without dropping a point, scoring 31 goals and conceding just two in the process.
Indeed when the vote on Oceania's status was taken on the floor of the FIFA Congress in Zurich, Australia was the only dissenting voice among 173 nations.
