Oceanic whitetip shark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The oceanic whitetip shark, Carcharhinus longimanus, is a large pelagic shark of tropical and warm temperate seas.
The oceanic whitetip is usually solitary and slow-moving, and tends to cruise near the top of the water column, covering vast stretches of empty water scanning for possible food sources.
Despite the greater notoriety of the great white shark and other sharks habitually found nearer the shore, the oceanic whitetip is considered responsible for more fatal attacks on humans than all other species combined, as a result of predation on those shipwrecked or from aircraft downed in the open ocean.

While the great white is the shark that most people immediately think of when shark attacks are mentioned, the bull shark may be responsible for the most attacks on humans.
A 2,25 m (7 1/2") great white was captured in the ensuing shark hunt and the stomach contained flesh and bones which were reported to be human, but a positive identification of this was never made.
In addition to the great white shark and bull shark, the only other sharks proven to have killed humans are the oceanic white tipped shark and the tiger shark, implicated in attacks most often in the tropical Pacific, including Hawaii.

Diamond - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This strong ability to split white light into its component colors is an important aspect of diamond's attraction as a gemstone, giving it impressive prismatic action that results in so-called fire in a well-cut stone.
The dispersion of white light into a rainbow of colors, known in the trade as fire, is the other primary characteristic of gem diamonds, and has been highly prized throughout history.
The GIA has developed a rating system for color in white diamonds, from "D" to "Z" (with D being "colorless" and Z having a bright yellow coloration), which has been widely adopted in the industry and is universally recognized, superseding several older systems once used in different countries.

Study Says Sharks Have Much To Fear From Humans   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-30)
The study also says less than 1 percent of the population remains of one key kind of shark: the oceanic white tip.
Renowned biologist Ransom Myers, who co-authored the study, said research from the Gulf of Mexico shows the population of the oceanic white tipped shark has declined by more than 99 percent over the last 50 years and that there are now just seven white tips for every 1,000 that once existed.
Myers believes the main cause of the sharks' decline is over-fishing, especially sharks caught up in long line fishing, even though they're not the intended catch.
