		Ochota (Ah-hota) is one of the oldest Districts of Warsaw, dating back to the Thirteenth Century and is located near the City's Center, just to the east of Włochy and Okęcie International Airport.
		Because of its centralized location, Ochota has become a "magnet for investors" and is experiencing an economic boom, as evidenced by IBM, Bayer and BASF locating their Polish base of operations in the District of Ochota and also by the construction of many new and modern apartment buildings within the District.
		Never the less, all is not well, as Ochota has some social problems and has been identified by the City of Warsaw as being one of several Districts in the City that has a high degree poverty, alcohol and drug abuse.

		Wojciech - "Wojtek" participated in the Uprising in the Ochota District of Warsaw.
		On August 2, 1944, while the military units from Ochota were trying to break through to the Sekocin forests, he was captured by the Germans and executed in a group of 60 people near Pecice.
		A two-week period of history of this group started, which was then turned into a regiment "Grzymala" - and ended with a march towards Mokotow (district of Warsaw) and "Grzymala's" death during the night of August 18/19.

		The most headway was made downtown, but it wasn't enough to meet up with the fighters from the Starowka (the old part of the city -- Note: Wherever possible, Polish names are used since that is what is used on the scanned maps), Powisle, or other parts of the city.
		In some parts, like Zoliborz and Ochota, things went so poorly that the partisans were largely forced to retreat into the forests surrounding the city.
		The attacks on the Okecie and Bielany airports were repulsed, as was the attack on the Raszyn radio station.

		I was taken immediately to a home for children at 75 Nowogrodzka Street.
		I hope to discover something of my actual background, and, although highly unlikely, it would be wonderful to be able to find my family.
