Ochota (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-06) |
 | | Ochota (Ah-hota) is one of the oldest Districts of Warsaw, dating back to the Thirteenth Century and is located near the City's Center, just to the east of Włochy and Okęcie International Airport. |
 | | Because of its centralized location, Ochota has become a "magnet for investors" and is experiencing an economic boom, as evidenced by IBM, Bayer and BASF locating their Polish base of operations in the District of Ochota and also by the construction of many new and modern apartment buildings within the District. |
 | | Never the less, all is not well, as Ochota has some social problems and has been identified by the City of Warsaw as being one of several Districts in the City that has a high degree poverty, alcohol and drug abuse. |
