October marks the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the hearings by the U.S. House Committee on Un-American Activities, a series of public interrogations that lead to the persecution and fllisting of numerous Hollywood writers, directors, producers and actors as suspected Communist sympathizers.
Admission to all films is $4.50; $4 for students, seniors and children under 12, with the exception of Johnny Guitar, which is $2 with admission to Red Hollywood.

 October -- Sergei Eisenstein's overlooked masterwork
Commissioned by the Soviet Central Committee in 1927 to commemorate the ten year anniversary of the October Revolution, October (also known as Ten Days that Shook the World) is the last significant silent film of legendary director Sergei Eisenstein.
Filming the events in their actual locations in Petrograd (later to be named Leningrad, Stalingrad, and return to St. Petersburg) give the film added credibility that historians will find especially fascinating-especially notable is the storming of the actual Winter Palace.
Nevertheless, Eisenstein ranks as a leading film grammarian-his editing techniques and use of creative camera angles have been studied and imitated for years.

Beverly Hills, CA — Friday, October 1, is the deadline for makers of eligible live-action and animated short films, as well as for countries submitting films in the Foreign Language Film Award category, to submit their entry forms and supporting materials to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for 77th Academy Awards® consideration.
Films that reach the branch screening round of voting will need to supply a second film print to the Academy by Wednesday, January 5, 2005.
In the Foreign Language Film category, additional documentation, including a synopsis of the film in English, a biography and photograph of the director and a copy of public notification of exhibition, such as an advertisement, is due by October 1.

 October films (Quarter Life Crisis)
The filming is great there with endless scenes, people being filmed from ground level (a few Riefenstahl moments there I guess) and a lot of soldier chanting and ‘Sir’ shouting that you’d expect from a military film.
I thought that neither the film nor the acting was particularly impressive.
I also re-watched A Life Less Ordinary which was probably my favourite film of 1997 – Possibly a bit too cheesy to be cool, but still a fun idea and a hot Cameron Diaz in there.

October 4, 2003 5:05 PM Another Top 100 films, but this is the product of Tv Cream and is more special (and I'd hazard closer to our opinions) than the usual lists.
I won't give away the top film but if I mention that 'Psychomania', 'The Belles of St Trinians', 'The President's Analyst' and 'Time Bandits' are all in there you'll get the idea.
After the first twenty films, I found myself just browsing through to see the titles because the blurbs were too confusing.

In my opinion, companies like Sony Classics and October Films would not have done as well with this film.
You arranged for the film to play in leading calendar houses in all the major U.S. cities and got exposure and terrific reviews for a film that without Artistic License Films, would never have been seen in cinema.
Without the work of companies like Artistic License Films, there would be no future for independent films in America.

And it gives a synopsis of the film broken down into four pages, each one having one or two stills from the film attractively layed out on the page.
A couple problems the October Films site has is due to the graphics and images it includes throughout the site, the download time can be long, and depending on how modern the users' computer equipment is, the graphics can appear "broken" or not as crisp as intended.

Rapper T.I. and his partner Jason Geter have sold a pitch to New Line set in the world of used cars.The untitled T.I. used car project is the first for the film division of T.I. and Geter's company Grand Hustle Entertainment.
For those not familier with Loyd Kaufman, he is the creator of the wildly successful "Toxic Avenger" series of films as well as a distributor of independant horror genre films.
Some of the memberships for the page were cast and crew, but there were some "heavy hitters" that became friends of the page like actor/comedian Chris Tucker whose brother Dexter Tucker is in the movie.
