We are in the very early stages of planning a reunion to be held in 2006 in New London/Groton.
We're hoping to hold it in the fall, probably late October or early November.

 Chapman: "I Deserve Nothing." - October 15, 2004
OCTOBER 15--During a recent parole hearing, John Lennon's killer told authorities that, "I deserve nothing.
So that's a worse state." Below you'll find a transcript of Chapman's latest parole hearing, which was released yesterday by the New York State Division of Parole (the murderer's release bid was rejected for the third time).
Chapman, who's housed in protective custody and works as a prison law clerk, is again eligible for parole in October 2006.

 Lennon Killer Denied Parole - October 5, 2004
OCTOBER 5--For the third time in four years, John Lennon's killer was today denied parole.
A New York State Parole Commission panel voted unanimously to keep Mark David Chapman, 49, locked up at the Attica Correctional Facility, where he is serving a sentence of 20 years to life for the 1980 killing.
Chapman, who was first denied release in October 2000 and then again in 2002, is eligible again for a parole review in October 2006.

Candidates' research interests may be in the physical or biological sciences, mathematics, information sciences or the social and economic aspects of technology and technology management, and candidates will be expected to pursue interdisciplinary research across one or more lines of inquiry during the tenure of the Fellowship.
The Fellowship will begin on l October 2006 or on a date to be agreed, and is for two years.

 National Minimum Wage - Exceeds £5 for the first time in October 2005
From October 2005, 1.3 million low paid workers will benefit from a further increase to the national mimimum wage.   The current rate of £4.85 will rise by 20p to £5.05, in line with average earnings.
The Government has announced that it will keep under review the issue of whether to put 21 year old workers onto the adult rate.   The LPC is also to review the minimum wage treatment of benefits in kind, including benefits that are offered as part of a salary sacrifice arrangement.
Although not announced in the press office published by the Department of Trade and Industry, it is expected that the accommodation offset will increase in line with the adult rate of the minimum wage, from £3.75 to £3.90 per day from October 2005 and £4.15 per day from October 2006.

 Northmoor Trust - Nature Diary - October 2004
Ladder in hand, Mike Rogers (the Northmoor Trust's ornithologist) has spent much of October roaming Little Wittenham Wood, surveying and cleaning out the woodland's 123 nest boxes.
All of the newts will now be out of the woodland ponds and will be searching for a winter home in which to hibernate for the cold months ahead.
They hibernate from October through until late February, typically under piles of leaves or logs, inside hollow tree stumps and sometimes stone walls.

Due to feedback from some libraries and due to limited information available about the 2006 PLA Conference, we will extend the deadline for continuing education and training applications pertaining/related to attendance for the 2006 PLA Conference to.....
If you are filing a print application, the application is due no later than the postmarked date of October 15, 2005.
As some of you have found out, there is not a lot of information on the Public Library Association Web site about the conference sessions, hotels, and/or other travel arrangements.
