On October 27, the South Carolina Supreme Court voted 3-2 to reaffirm a previous ruling in which they established that a viable fetus can be considered a child under state law, therefore making a pregnant woman criminally liable for any actions taken during pregnancy - legal or illegal - that might affect her viable fetus.
