octopus - Hutchinson encyclopedia article about octopus   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
The octopus has rows of suckers along the length of each arm (or tentacle) which, as well as helping it swim and crawl around the ocean floor, allows it to search in cracks and crevices and grab prey.
The octopus is a carnivore (flesh-eater), usually feeding on crabs, shrimps, and mussels, but the larger species of octopus have been known to hunt small sharks and dogfish.
Once a leash of thin fl whips, like the arms of an octopus, flashed across the sunset and was immediately with- drawn, and afterwards a thin rod rose up, joint by joint, bearing at its apex a circular disk that spun with a wobbling motion.

The tricks you can do with this card and Floating Shield are ludicrous, with the sacrifice of Shield and activation of the Mythmaker combining to protect all of your creatures from pretty much anything, and the recurrence of Shade's Form creating havoc, leaving all of your creatures pretty much invulnerable.
This card's inclusion here is in part testimony to the strength of Wormfang Drake, which quick creatures like the Researcher will help you exploit, but I wouldn't suggest you start playing Confessors and Dedicated Martyrs.
This card could prove absolutely useless in its main deck capacity, so I'd recommend it primarily as a sideboard card against aggressive decks that either use their graveyard cards for other things or have trouble getting cards into the graveyard in the first place.

 Hungry octopus forms trick elbow
Octopus arms are able to move in nearly any direction, or what scientists call a virtually infinite number of "degrees of freedom."
Israeli and Italian researchers, led by biologist Binyamin Hochner of Hebrew University in Jerusalem, found last year that when it's feeding time, the eight-armed octopus forms a temporary elbow-like joint to grasp the food and tip it into the mouth.
The octopus uses the technique to form a three-jointed limb, similar to the human shoulder, elbow and wrist, that allow its tentacles to grasp a morsel of food.
