  The Odd Ball
Mixing up her favourite combo of 80's flavoured satire and true vintage glam, the self-declared Queen of Sass slips effortlessly from classic golden-age tributes to old-school jams by incorporating smooth vocals or hip-hop stylings to her burlesque numbers.
We at Odd Ball headquarters send a very gracious (and impressed) THANK YOU to the three photographers that went out of their way to capture the fun and wackiness that was Nightmare on Odd Ball Street.
We at the Odd Ball are thrilled to present our party goers with another spine tingling silk aerialist performance!

  twelve_ball
Given 12 balls, one of which is different in weight than all of the others, determine which ball is the odd ball, and whether it is heavier or lighter than the rest by using a balance only three times.
The goal is to end up with all but one ball in the "equal weight" set, and the remaining ball in either the heavy or light set, thus isolating the odd ball and also knowing whether it is lighter or heavier than the rest.
In that case, you know that the odd ball must be one of the ones on the balance, therefore all of the balls not on the balance must be of equal weight.

 Odd Ball Treadles
This was a device with a foot board at one end of a pivoting rod and a brass counterweight ball at the other.
During normal operation the ball would be lowermost, but when the machinist needed a breather she could dab the weight with a toe and down would swing a raised footrest.
It was claimed, of course, that the odd minute's rest with Mr.

Weighing, and the 12 ball problem   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-19)
If they are different, you know the odd ball's in a, and also you know whether it is heavier or lighter, so compare two of the 3 in a and you will have the answer in the third comparison.
If a and c are the same, the odd ball is in b and again you can have the answer in the third comparison.
If a and c are the same however, the odd ball must be in d, and without knowing whether it is heavier or lighter you cannot get it in only one more weighing.

CS305J - Oddball Assignment   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-19)
We need to determine which ball is different (called the "Odd Ball" because it is different, not because it is odd numbered) using our balance.
Each time that you put balls in the trays and determine which side is heavier, we count that as one weighing.
First, if you put a different number of balls on the right tray and the left tray (example: 3 balls on the right and 4 on the left) then the tray with more balls will always be heavier.

Answer to the Odd Ball Problem
There are twelve identical-looking balls, but one is either heavier or lighter than the other eleven.
If they balance, 11 is the odd heavy ball, otherwise the heavier of 9 and 10 is the odd ball.
If they balance, the odd ball is 4 (light) or 7 or 8 (heavy).

Math/Logic Problem - I Am Not A Geek Forums   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-19)
11 of the balls are the same weight/mass and one of the balls is either lighter or heavier than the rest.
The task is to find out which one of the balls is the odd one and whether it is heavier or lighter using the balance only 3 times.
Worst case is when the odd ball is not on the side of the 3-3 that you balance first and that is 4 moves.

You show the brass tube and the steel ball, the ball is clearly too large to fit in the tube.
The ball vanishes, then reappears under the cup, ball is placed in performer’s pocket, it returns under the cup.
Although there is only enough room in the tube for the three balls, one on top of the other, the ball placed on top of the three magically appears on the bottom or in the center of the stack of three.

The Odd Ball Knittery: May 2005
This weekend, the appliance of maximum annoyance was the scanner, which in addition to doubling as a boat anchor, had the very unique property (for a scanner, that is) in that it didn’t actually scan anything.
Last week, it suddenly dawns on the Odd Ball Dumb Ass that there is absolutely nothing in the rule book saying I have to personally knit every freaking stitch by hand.
Again, all hail to the Odd Ball Knittery IT dept. Himself, knowing that the whining and snivelling and bitching and grousing and complaining and sighing and sucking of wind was never going to cease, thought he’d do an end run on the whole natter fest and went out and bought a new computer.

 Anatomy of a Drawing
f you read Odd and Even Numbers, you saw that the more you balance your number combinations using odd and even numbers, the more you automatically play the types of number combinations which are being drawn more consistently in every lottery game in the world.
It also shows how the odds are played out with odd and even numbers during the course of the drawing.
Physically, there's an extra odd ball bouncing around in there, so the odds have got to favor, however slightly, an odd ball being drawn.
