 Ocular Dominance Experiment (ODE)
In an example probe trial, ODE can be made to show rival stimuli, and then introduce one or more instances of a probe stimulus during a trial to which the observer responds with a key-press.
In its simplest form, the probe experiment could wait until the observer presses a single key to signal that he or she is ready, then, after a random time, show a spot to which the observer releases the key.
ODE records the time between each onset of the probe and the release of the key.

These were both historical records (mostly those of the late E.M. Walker who is, of course, responsible for a great deal of what we currently know about Odonata in Canada and North America) and contemporary records.
Records came from the literature, from major institutional collections such as the Royal Ontario Museum, the Canadian National Collection at Agriculture Canada, and the University of Guelph (among others), as well as a great number of contemporary Odonata enthusiasts who submitted their records to this atlas project.
If mapping the records by lat-long, however, one has to realize that not all of the records are highly accurate.
