 Duivendijk - Odense Steel Shipyard
Odense Steel Shipyard Ltd. which is a part of A.P. Moller - Maersk Group was established in 1917-18 by Shipowner A.P. Møller.
From the beginning the yard was situated in Odense at Odense Canal and had a capacity of vessels up to 40,000 tonnes deadweight, which was sufficient until the mid 1950's.
In 1959 the new shipyard was ready with a maximum capacity of vessels of up to 200,000 tonnes deadweight, a maximum which was thought more than sufficiently for years to come.
