The Odenwald is a mountain chain in southern Hessen, northern Bavaria and northern Baden-Württemberg.
The Odenwald is bounded by the Neckar River in the south and the Main River in the east, while it gradually slopes away to the north and the west.
The Odenwald is known as a leisure destination easily accessible from the urban areas of Mannheim and Frankfurt.

Odenwald, an infrared astronomer who came to Goddard in 1992 to work for the COBE mission, is now the Education Manager for the Imager for Magnetopause to Aurora Global Exploration (IMAGE) mission.
Odenwald plans to continue writing because he believes astronomers can offer a unique perspective and synthesis of ideas to people and because he is "fascinated with the process." Ever since his first article, Odenwald has been refining his technique to connect with the public.
Odenwald is considering a number of possibilities, many related to astronomy and its philosophical implications, "I hope to find a happy ending to the discovery that our destiny is in invisible hands, and share it with people.

Odenwald, who originally drafted the bill in March, said he was surprised at Erby's last-minute change of mind because he said she promised to support the bill after she voted it out of the Justice and Health Committee Aug. 9.
Odenwald said he asked her if she would vote for the bill if her suggested exemptions were included and she said she would.
Odenwald said he thought a better use of time, effort and money would be for a citizen's referendum petition to place the indoor smoking ban issue before county voters and "take it completely out of the council arena.

Odenwald said Friday that the duo already had talked to the county counselor on how to word such a resolution, which would call for a "Smoke-Free Missouri." Odenwald added that he was unaware of Dooley's likely support but said he was glad to get it.
Odenwald speculated that the initiative-petition route might be the easiest way to get the idea before voters, who appear to be more supportive of smoking bans than the affected businesses.
Odenwald is surprised by Dooley's apparent support for a statewide ban, because the county executive avoided making any public comments about the county measure, even after reports surfaced that Dooley had made off-the-record assertions that he might veto such a ban.

In a memo to the St. Louis County Counselor, Odenwald submitted draft language that would ban smoking throughout the County in establishments including: airports, office buildings, restaurants, bars, theaters, indoor sports venues, and all school buildings, including junior colleges and universities not presently covered by County ordinance.
Odenwald also sponsored and passed legislation which prohibited tobacco sales to minors and licensed the sale of tobacco products within St. Louis County.
The first hearing on Councilman Odenwald’s draft ordinance is scheduled before the Justice and Health Committee of the County Council on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

The St. Louis County Council should delay approving a plan for assessing property this year and in 2003 until officials make expected changes in it, says Council Chairman Kurt Odenwald, R-Shrewsbury.
