		Four Odeon Cinemas in the UK hit a winning streak this summer as they showed off their innovative digital technology skills by screening England’s World Cup first round matches to lucky members of the public.
		Free seats in Odeon Cinemas at Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle, were won by footy freaks nationwide whose fortunes flourished in a scratch card competition run by Odeon Cinemas.
		Quite possibly as Odeon Cinemas matched the ball-juggling skills of Beckham and Owen, by showcasing their own digital technology skills with a team of four Barco SLM G5 digital projectors showing “alternative” content beyond film.

		The second volume tracing the history of Britain's most famous cinema circuit continues the story from 1942 when J. Arthur Rank took control after the death of its founder, Oscar Deutsch.
		Odeon expanded rapidly and was eventually merged with Rank's other circuit, Gaumont cinemas, as part of The Rank Organisation.
		The book is copiously illustrated with 16 pages in colour and includes a list of the films given an Odeon circuit release from 1942 to 1959 and a complete record of all the cinemas ever operated by Odeon until it was sold by Rank in 2000.

		I was talking to a guy in a certain large comic book outlet in Leeds (England) and he told me that Odeon cinemas (amongst others) would not be showing Dogma.
		He also told me that the only way to see it would be to find an arthouse cinema which would be showing it sometime in January (not boxing day).
