  Odeon: Marble Arch
I remember going to the original Odeon throughout the 1950's and it was always known as that and just a few days ago a friend came across the Cinema listings in the West End for 1948 and the Odeon Marble Arch was advertised.
Structured in traditional circle and stalls, the cinema was a notable addition to the West End.
The cinema was renamed Odeon in 1945 and continued as a first-run house.

This film suffuses every aspect of her ordinary life with an electrifying sense of transgression and impending doom; Vera's fate is grippingly tragic.
Existential zaniness can be a bit of a turn-off in American cinema, and those of you who were agnostic about Charlie Kaufman's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind might look askance at this movie, selected as the festival's closing gala.
The famous opening scene, in which a hot-air balloon trip ends in tragedy, forms the starting point for the tense unravelling of a relationship.

A series of screenings with simultaneous audio descriptions (for those with visual impairments), and subtitling, aimed at improving the enjoyment of cinema-going for people with audio impairments, will take place during the Festival in October and November.
The Odeon West End screenings (3 and 6 November) will use the very latest subtitling and audio description processes, (the DTS CSS system), while the films shown at the National Film Theatre (29 and 31 of October) will use traditional subtitling and live audio descriptions provided by trained personnel.
It's a subtle, unpretentious and emotionally honest depiction of characters suffering the trials and tribulations of modern romance, set against some familiar London landmarks.

Jedi Council Forums - Empire vs Odeon
I know that the Odeon has the larger screen but whenever i've seen a film at the Odeon the picture is slightly curved which is annoying.
I've been to both and believe that while the ODEON has a better screen, the curtain that some screens had annoyed me as well as it being difficult to view the film since I was at the end of a row.
Odeon West End and Empire are both very good screens with not very severe rakes (angle from projector to screen), so it's a tough call.

Despite their much-publicised split last September, the couple were patently in harmony at the party at the Waldorf which followed the screening at the Odeon West End in aid of RADA, Britain's flagship acting school.
However, the greatest praise for the great man came from his co-star in the film, Alicia Silverstone, who revealed she was made to wait a month after her audition before Branagh gave her the role.
Although Branagh said the condition was not connected with work or events in his personal life, and that it had not resurfaced since he worked on his latest project, his admission may fuel speculation that it might be linked with the end of his five-year relationship with Helena Bonham Carter.
